What are the technical prerequisites for TeleCare?
- An internet connection with standard DSL speed (16 Mbit/s) and upward
- A headset for an optimal call experience
- A webcam for two-sided video calls
If you don’t have a webcam installed, you can still have a one-sided video call (e.g. to check if your patient’s hearing instruments are correctly inserted).
- An Android cell phone or iPhone.
The minimum operating system requirements are Android 4.4 or iOS 11.1 for iPhone
- An internet connection on the cell phone (Wifi or mobile networks with a minimum of 4G speed)
- The myHearing app installed
How does the registration work?
Signia TeleCare is a professional tool for Hearing Care Professionals only. To ensure the tool’s proper use, your registration will be reviewed. During this process, we might contact you via the phone number or e-mail you provided.
Once the review is complete, you will receive a separate e-mail within three business days.
As soon as your registration for Signia TeleCare has been accepted, you can Login with your credentials and start offering your patients this new standard of care.
Is TeleCare free of charge?
Yes, TeleCare is currently completely free of charge, including a full range of function. TeleCare is also in continuous development, more features are being added frequently. Even today, you may send newsletters to certain patient groups or to conduct full remote finetuning via Connexx.
How is my patient data protected?
Your practice and patient data are completely safe. We have multiple certifications and are in conformance with General Data Protection Regulation of European Union. Furthermore the Telecare Portal is TRUSTe (link) and the myHearing app TÜV Süd (Link) certified. Sivantos has no access to your patient data.
How do you ensure my data and that of the patients is protected?
The TeleCare Portal and all data related to it is stored on servers provided by Microsoft Azure. Access to these systems is highly restricted and controlled. Any access is logged and documented for audit purposes. Communication between HCP browser sessions or patient devices and the web servers is also secured and encrypted (using HTTPS).
How do you ensure that private patient information remains confidential?
We have made significant efforts to ensure that patient data is protected at all times. All data and all communication between servers and patients (web app, patient phone) is encrypted. Access to the TeleCare Portal is protected by a password for every employee in a practice. You and your patients can be fully confident about data security.
